My husband (Azam) had attended the IMAP function in April, and received my profile during the visit and decided to call me couple of months later. We spoke to each other briefly in June 2002 and then families met short after, and we decided (mutual agreement) to get married in Sept. 2002. He is a very nice guy, still establishing himself but that is something we both can work together on.Â

I think in this day and age, it is so vital to have these formal & organized functions to have the young people meet - especially muslims. I know for myself it was very difficult, my parents are very well known in the community but all family friends- children were too young, where do you look for a good husband, at these IMAP gatherings and IMAP site you get a chance to find out about a lot of candidates, sooner or later somebody did click and was a suitable candidate.Â

Once again, thank you for all your help, we really appreciate it.Â

Kazem & Nadja
"We (Nadja and I) met at the IMAP Eid Dinner on February 3rd 2001. Our meeting was a wonderful experience for both of us. As we sat down to recap the events that brought us together, we can only say "Al-hamdulliah" and extend our warmest thanks to the IMAP committee for organizing such an event. For me (Kazem), it was my 3rd time of attending the series of IMAP's s well organized events. I was very excited and encouraged by the quality of attendees and believed that "Insha Allah", I would meet someone compatible and who I would love to spend the rest of my life with...and there she is...Nadja. For Nadja, it was her first visit to IMAP.Â

It all started when I said a soft "Sallam Alaykum" to her, and she responded with a wide smile. Then we talked about Bosnia and Nigeria. We exchange our telephone numbers. Next day, I called fast! And we talked straight for about 2 hours...mashallah...I knew I'd found the one person I've been looking for, and she (Nadja) was so sure that she had found the one person that she was looking for. "Al-hamdulliah", on July 28th 2001, Nadja became my wife.Â

We hope this story will encourage other single muslims to be more optimistic about finding the right spouse. Attending IMAP events is one of the best avenues - since you get to meet "real" people personally."Â

Dear Sister Zabeeda,
This e-mail has been long in coming to you. I would like you to remove me from the participants list of candidates. This would not be a negative, but an extremely positive thing. Over four months ago, on June 24th at the Heart Lake Conservation park, where the first IMAP picnic was held, I had the privilege of meeting, by the grace of Allah, the person who I would spend the rest of my life with. We were both a bit hesitant of attending, but have since always remarked, that this was meant to be. The events on that day leading up to the picnic are so remarkable, that we both know that we were meant to be together. We both have so much in common, and shared so many similar experiences. There are no coincidences in life, just destiny, and she was mine. Ever since both of our families have met, and everyone gets along really well. Day by day, by the grace of Allah, we are planning our future together, and eventually the rest of our lives. I can only say that without the IMAP program, our paths probably would not have crossed, but it was meant to be. It is a great and wonderful service that you provide for your fellow Muslims in keeping our religion strong within our community.Â

With these few words I thank you for helping me meet my future wife, and could you please remove my profile from the candidates list, my search for the perfect companion has concluded. ... Thank you very much.Â
